Orrville, California Shooting — Police are actively investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday evening, January 22, 2026, that left one person dead and another critically injured in the Orrville area.
According to the Orrville Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire near Mineral Springs and North Vine Street. Upon arrival, authorities located two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and the second was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Emergency responders, including multiple EMS units and Metro LifeFlight personnel, were deployed to assist at the scene. Police temporarily closed Mineral Springs east of Sterling Avenue to secure the area and facilitate the investigation.
In an official statement, the Orrville Police Department said that there is no ongoing threat to public safety and that investigators are continuing to gather evidence. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims or details about any potential suspects.
